Scent Free Environment

POLICY: 

Due to the health concerns arising from exposure to scented products, Wilson Memorial General Hospital has instituted this policy to provide a scent-free environment for all employees, volunteers, patients and visitors.

DEFINITIONS: 

While we acknowledge that the medical community is uncertain if there is a cause and effect relationship between scents and disease, we respect the symptoms experienced by members of this hospital.

This use of scented products will not be allowed within the building at any time.  In addition, all materials used for cleaning will be scent-free (wherever possible).

The hospital’s definition of “fragrance-free” means no fragrance added.  It must be understood that all items have a “natural” scent due to their individual components.
